Will of Samuel Dymond
from Newfoundland will books volume 6 pages 264-265 probate year 1896

Last Will and Testament of
Samuel Dymond of St. John's
Farmer deceased.

      This is the last will and Testament of me Samuel Dymond of St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland Farmer. I give and bequeath to my daughter Jane Martin the western half containing about two and a half acres of that piece of land situate on the north side of the road leading to Quidi Vidi together with the dwelling house thereon. I give and bequeath to my daughters Elizabeth Barter and Hannah Dymond the Eastern half of the said piece or parcel of land situate as aforesaid together with the dwelling house thereon share and share alike. The horse and carts now used by my son George Dymond I give and bequeath to him the said George Dymond. The horse and carts now used by my Grandson Robert Martin I give and bequeath to him the said Robert Martin. I give and bequeath to my said daughter Jane Martin my six cows for the purpose of aiding in the support and maintenance of my grandchildren born of her. I give and bequeath to my said daughter Jane Martin all my farming utensils and appliances (except such as have already been hereinbefore bequeathed) and all my household furniture. Of the moneys belonging to me and invested in the Newfoundland British Society Fund I give and bequeath as follows that is to say one hundred dollars to my son John Dymond one hundred dollars to my said son George Dymond, sixty six dollars and sixty six cents to my said daughter Jane Martin sixty six dollars and sixty six cents to my said daughter Elizabeth Barter and sixty six dollars and sixty six cents to my said daughter Hannah Dymond. I hereby appoint Samuel Austin of St. John's aforesaid Tide Surveyor in her Majestys Customs Executor of this my will. St. John's February twenty fourth A.D. 1896. (Sgd) Samuel his x mark Dymond. Signed by the said Testator by affixing his mark thereto having first been read over and explained to him as his last will and testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses. (Sgd) Frank D. Lilly. (Sgd) Jas. P. Blackwood.

      I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Samuel Dymond deceased
