Will of Richard Dyer
from Newfoundland will books volume 7 page 7 probate year 1900

Last Will and Testament of
Richard Dyer of Logy Bay, St. John's
Fisherman deceased.

      This is the last will and Testament of me Richard Dyer of St. John's in the Island of Newfoundland Fisherman and I hereby revoke all former wills by me made
1. I appoint Patrick Dyer of St. John's Farmer my executor.
2. I give and bequeath unto my son George Dyer at present of Boston in the United States of America Seaman the front or western half of that piece or parcel of land at Logy Bay and known as The Black Bird Nest farm.
3. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Ellen Earle at present of Boston in the United States of America widow the back or eastern half of that piece or parcel of land situate at Logy Bay and known as The Black Bird Nest farm.
4. I also give and bequeath unto my said son George Dyer all my fishing room premises situate on the south side of Dyer Cove at Logy Bay aforesaid.
5. I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Maude Earle all that piece or parcel of land situate at Logy Bay and known as the "Marsh".
6. I give and bequeath unto my granddaughter Minnie Earle all that piece or parcel of land situate at Logy Bay and known as the "old Gardens".
7. I give and bequeath unto my grandson George Earle all that piece or parcel of land situate at Logy Bay and known as the Back Cove fishing premises.
8. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Margaret Dyer for and during her natural life and on her death to my granddaughters Maude Earle and Minnie Earle my interest in the dwelling house situate on Longs Hill No. 99 in the town of St. John's.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this eighth day of September Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and ninety six (sgd) Richard Dyer. Signed by the said Richard Dyer as his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. (Sgd) James P. McLoughlan (sgd) S. D. Blandford.

      I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Richard Dyer deceased
