Last Will and Testament of
Thomas Drake of Catalina
Master Mariner deceased.
In the name of God, Amen. I Thomas
Drake of
Catalina, District of Trinity Bay, Newfoundland being weak of body, but of
sound mind and memory, do make publish and declare this my last will and Testament
in the manner following.
First I give and bequeath to my wife Ann all my money now in the Bank of Montreal together with all other money that
I may possess at my death to be used for the support and maintenance of my
wife Ann, and our daughters Polly and Rachel so
long as they shall remain at home with their mother.
Second, that my wife's
death all money which she may then possess shall be divided equally among our
daughters, viz. Tabitha Ann Newhook, Polly and Rachel should
they survive her.
Third. I give and devise to my wife Ann the Schooner "Ivanhoe" with permission to run or
sell her at any time, or should Polly or Rachel marry she
may if she think fit give the schooner to her husband.
And lastly I do hereby
nominate and appoint my son-in-law Ebenezer John Newhook to
be executor of this my last will and Testament.
In witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and seal this Twenty third of November A.D. 1900. (Sgd) Thomas
Drake (LS) The above instrument was at the date thereof signed, sealed and
declared by the said Thomas Drake as and for his last will and Testament in
presence of us, who at his request and in his presence and in the presence
of each other, have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto. (Sgd) A.E.

to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Thomas Drake deceased
