Last will and Testament
of Michael Doyle
of St. John's Farmer Deceased
.

In the name of God Amen. I Michael Doyle of Saint John's in the island of Newfoundland Farmer do make publish and declare this paper writing to be my last will and testament and I hereby annul and make void all former wills made by me. I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Doyle married to James Cole to and for her sole use and benefit free and clear of the debts and control of her present or any future husband she may have all that piece or parcel of land situate on the eastern side of the main road leading from St. John's aforesaid to Torbay and containing about four acres and held by me under grant from the Crown and which said grant bears date the 31st day of August A.D. 1865 the number of said grant being 2127 together with the dwelling house and all other erections on said land all the foregoing property being now in my possession and occupied by me. I give devise and bequeath unto my said daughter Elizabeth Doyle married to James Cole all other property of every description I may die possessed of free and clear of the debts and control of her present or any future husbanded she may have and for her sole use and benefit. Upon the death of my said daughter Elizabeth all the property bequeathed under this my last will and testament to her shall go and is hereby bequeathed to the children of my said daughter Elizabeth share and share alike. I hereby nominate and appoint my said daughter Elizabeth Doyle married to James Cole aforesaid sole executrix of this my last will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set at Saint John's aforesaid this 29th day of December A.D. 1887 Michael his x mark Doyle Signed sealed published and declared by the said Michael Doyle as and for his last will and Testament in presence of us and each of us who have at his request, in his presence and in presence of each other subscribed our names hereto as witnesses John J. Howley M. J. O'Mara

I hereby declare the following to be a codicil to my last will and testament executed by me this day that is to say that my daughter Elizabeth Doyle married to James Cole, to whom the bequests of all my property are made shall give a home to my blind son Michael Doyle during his life time provided the said Michael Doyle conducts himself in a sober and respectable manner. In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set to this codicil to my last will and Testament this 29th day of December A.D. 1887 Michael his x mark Doyle (L.S.) Signed sealed published and declared by Michael Doyle as and for a codicil to his last will and testament in presence of us and each of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses at the request of said Michael Doyle in his presence and in presence of each other John J. Howley M. J. O'Mara.
I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and testament of Michael Doyle.
