Last will and Testament
of Thomas Doody late
of Mosquito Colinet Island
Planter Deceased

In the name of God Amen. I Thomas Doody of Mosquito Colinet Island St. Mary's Bay but at present of St. John's Planter, do make publish and declare this paper writing to be my last will and testament, and I hereby annul all former wills by me made or executed. First. I give devise and bequeath all money I may die possessed of or entitled to at the time of my death and deposited in the Savings and Commercial Bank unto my wife Catherine Doody for her sole use and benefit. Second. I give devise and bequeath unto my said wife Catherine Doody the dwelling house and half the land and premises occupied by me in Mosquito aforesaid for and during the time of her natural life and after her death the said dwelling house and half of the land and premises to go to and I hereby bequeath the same unto Bernard Doody, Alban Doody & John Joseph Doody children of my deceased brother John Doody share and share alike. Third I give devise and bequeath the other half of my land and premises in Mosquito aforesaid unto the aforesaid Bernard Doody, Alban Doody and John Joseph Doody share and share alike. Fourth I give devise and bequeath all other property of every description and not hereinbefore bequeathed unto my said wife Catherine Doody for her sole use and benefit.

Lastly I hereby nominate and appoint my said wife Catherine Doody executrix and my nephew John Joseph Doody executor of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set at St. John's Newfoundland ???? day of March A.D. 1889. Thomas x Doody his mark. Signed sealed published and declared by the said Thomas Doody as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us and each of us who have in his presence and at his request subscribed our names hereto as witnesses being first read over and explained. Denis J. Scott. M. J. Omara.

I declare the following to be a codicil and to form part of my last will and testament that is to say that the bequests to my aforesaid wife of the dwelling house and half the land and premises at Mosquito aforesaid, and the bequest to Bernard Doody, Alban Doody and John Joseph Doody and upon the express condition that they my said wife and nephews do support and maintain my widowed sister Rose Ryan during the term of her natural life. In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand and seal subscribed and set at St. John's Newfoundland this 18th day of March A.D. 1889.
