Last will and Testament of
George Devereux of Trepassey S.D.
Planter deceased
In the name of God Amen
I
George Devereux of Trepassey Planter in the Southern District of the
Island of Newfoundland do make publish and declare this to be my last
will and Testament. First. I give and bequeath unto my son George
Devereux Six hundred dollars I also bequeath unto my son Joseph
Devereux Six hundred
dollars also my daughter Mary Eliza Four hundred & fifty dollars
also John Devereux my son Fifty dollars also Richard
Devereux my son
Ten dollars
Houses and all landed property owned by me I give
and bequeath to my sons George & Joseph Devereux. My daughter Mary
Eliza to be Mistress of the house while she remain unmarried.
Anything she fancy in the house she can take it.
Interest after expenses
paid to be divided equally between George, Joseph & Mary Eliza Devereux.
I also appoint my two sons George & Joseph Devereux my Executors
to this my will. In witness whereof I have hereunto my hand seal subscribed
and set at Trepassey aforesaid this first day October A.D. 1891. (Sgd)
George his X mark Devereux Signed Sealed published and declared by the
said George Devereux as and for his last will and Testament in the presence
of us and each of us who have in the presence of the said George
Devereux and at his request and in the presence of each other subscribe our names
as witness (sgd) Thomas Sutton. (Sgd) Alexander
