Will of Benjamin Edman Day
from Newfoundland will books volume 8 pages 463 to 465 probate year 1908

In re
      Benjamin Edman Day          deceased.

      This is the last will and testament of Benjamin Edman Day of Salmon Cove Trinity Bay Nfld now residing at Britannia Cove Trinity Bay Nfld. made this 20th day of May in the year of our Lord 1908 one thousand nine hundred and eight I revoke all former wills, or others testamentary dispositions by me at any time heretofore made, and declare this to be my last will and testament. I direct all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be paid and satisfied by my executors, hereinafter named, as soon as conveniently may be after my decease.
I give devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate of which I may die possessed of or interested in, in the manner following, that is to say I bequeath to my wife Beatrice Louisa Day all my personal estate consisting of Life insurance in Mutual life Polic Insurance pension money in Bank of Montreal and all other personal effects, except as hereinafter provided. I devise to my wife Beatrice Louisa Day my house furniture and all contents said house being #22 Cochrane Street Nfld except as hereinafter provided. My wife Beatrice Louisa Day to live in aforesaid house and keep a home for my children until they marry it being my wish that all my children and my wife live together while the children remain single should my daughter Ella May prefer to live with her aunt after four (4) years from date hereof she is to receive the sum of three hundred dollars $300.00 out of the estate except as hereinafter provided
Should my wife Beatrice Louisa Day marry again the house and furniture are to be sold and that and all other money and effects belonging to my estate to be divided equally between my children who are alive at time of division And I nominate and appoint my wife Beatrice Louisa Day to be the executor of this my last will and testament, and Mr William Warren to be the solicitor of my estate    Benjamin Edman Day (LS)     In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand 20th day of May in the year of our Lord 1908, one thousand nine hundred and eight    Benjamin Edman Day (LS)     Signed published and declared by Benjamin Edman Day the testator, as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us both, who present together at the same time in his presence, at his request, and in the presence of each other have hereunto at Britannia Cove, Trinity Bay, Nfld., subscribed our names as witnesses William Soper (LS)    H.A. Leslie (LS)
