Will of William Dawe from Newfoundland will books volume 14 pages 442-443 probate year 1929

In re       DECEASED.
WILLIAM DAWE.

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me William Dawe, of Bay Roberts in the island of Newfoundland, Manufacturer.
FIRST. I hereby revoke all former wills and Testamentary dispositions by me at any time made and declare this to be my last will and testament.
SECOND. I direct that my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and death duties be first paid out of my estate.
THIRD. I give and bequeath to my wife Eliza Dawe absolutely four shares in William Dawe & Sons Limited together with the total amount due me from said William Dawe & Sons Limited; all my land adjoining the Veneer factory and yard together with the barn erected thereon and the barrels in the store opposite my dwelling house; also my land situate at Western Arm, White Bay.
FOURTH. I give and bequeath the land on which my dwelling house is erected, my dwelling house, household furniture (with the exception of my Piano and Edison Gramaphone and Records) and my outhouses to my said wife Eliza Dawe for her life and after her decease I bequeath my said land, dwelling house, furniture and outhouses to my son Chester Dawe, it being understood that the said dwelling house is to remain a home for my daughters Myrtis and Christina Dawe while they remain unmarried and also for any of my unmarried sons who in the opinion of my executors may require a home.
FIFTH. I give and bequeath ten shares in the Avalon Coal Company, Limited to my said wife Eliza Dawe for her life and after her death the said shares shall go to my said son Chester Dawe.
SIXTH. I give and bequeath to my son Wilfred Dawe absolutely four shares in William Dawe & Sons Limited.
SEVENTH. I give and bequeath to my son Edward Dawe five shares in William Dawe & Sons Limited and two shares in the Standard Manufacturing Company Limited, also my interest in the beach at Coleys Point absolutely.
EIGHT. I give and bequeath to my son Augustus Dawe absolutely two shares in William Dawe & Sons Limited and one half interest in my waterside premises together with the erections thereon situate on the south side of the main Road immediately opposite my dwelling house, also the piece of land known as "Hierlihys” left to me by my father, situate at the "Neck" at Coleys Point.
Ninth. I give and bequeath to my son Frederick Dawe absolutely seven shares in William Dawe & Sons Limited.
Tenth. I give and bequeath to my son Maxwell Dawe absolutely nine shares in William Dawe & Sons Limited and one half interest in my waterside premises together with the erections thereon situate on the South Side of the main Road immediately opposite my dwelling house.
ELEVENTH I give and bequeath to my son Chester Dawe seven shares in William Dawe & Sons Limited.
TWELFTH. I give and bequeath to my daughter Myrtis Dawe absolutely five shares in the Avalon Coal Company Limited and two shares in William Dawe & Sons Limited and my Edison Gramaphone and Records.
THIRTEENTH. I give and bequeath to my daughter Christina Dawe absolutely five shares in the Avalon Coal Company Limited, two shares in William Dawe & Sons Limited and my Piano.
FOURTEENTH . I give and bequeath my Motor Car to my wife and children aforesaid for their joint use. In the event of any dispute arising amongst my family as to the use of the said Motor Car, my executors shall have the right to dispose of the same and divide the proceeds equally amongst my wife and children aforesaid.
FIFTEENTH I appoint my son Lewis Dawe, my son Wilfred Dawe and Arthur Barnes Executors of this my last will and testament.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF. I have hereunto set my hand at Bay Roberts aforesaid this 11th day of July A.D. 1923.

SIGNED by the testator in the presence of us both present at the same time, who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
