Will of Philip Dawe, from Newfoundland will books volume 15 page 211 probate year 1930

IN RE.          DECEASED

          PHILIP DAWE

I Philip Dawe of Hopewell in the Electoral district of Harbour Main in the Dominion of Newfoundland Farmer being sick in body but of perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and and testament.
First. I give and bequeath to my son Abram a peice of land south of the main road and bounded on the west by Lawrence's Pond Road, north by my brother Richard, East by my brother Richard and Garland Dawe South by Crown land, and on the south west partly by Richard Dawe and Job Warford. Second. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Emmulatte all that peice of land north of the main road to the Railway Line- this same peice of land my dwelling houses, Barn and other outhouses are on, my son Abram is to have a right of way to his dwelling house, barn and outhouses without interruption by my wife. This land is to remain in my wifes possession during her lifetime unless she should marry again in which case it is to go to my son Abram. Third. My dwelling house that I now occupy I bequeath to my two granddaughters Nina and Enid Dawe while they retain the name of Dawe. When they marry they are at liberty to take possession of the house but it is to be removed from off the land or sold as they may think advisable, but should I die before they marry they can then take possession of the house.
Fourth. The house that my son Abram occupies is a double dwelling, and he is owner of half of it, the other half being my own property I bequeath to my Emmulatte the east half of it she is to own this during her lifetime unless she should marry, but at her marriage or death this half of the dwelling is to be the property of my son Abram. The horse and cow belongs to my son Abram, the express waggon and all farming implements also belong to him. My barn is for the use of my son Abram and my wife and after her death or remarriage it is to go to my son Abram.
I bequeath to my two daughters Elizabeth Patience Dawe and Selina Mildred Scott one five dollars gold peice each.
And I do hereby disallow revoke and disannul all and every former testaments wills and bequests by my in any wise before named, willed and bequeathed, ratifying this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 18th day of May in the year of Our Lord One thousand nine hundred and twenty nine.

testament (having been first read over) in the presence
of us, who in his presence and in the presence of each other
have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
