Will of Ann Maria Dawe
from Newfoundland will books volume 10 pages 492 to 494 probate year 1917

In re
      Ann Maria Dawe          deceased.

      This is the last will and testament of me, Ann Maria Dawe widow of the late Captain Henry Daw, of Port de Grave Conception Bay Newfoundland. After all my just and lawful debts are paid, I give and bequeath to Thomas Daw. Ann Andrews, and Sarah Bartlett, brother and Sister of my deceased husband Henry Daw, the money I will have to my credit in the Saving department of the Bank of Montreal, to be equally divided amongst them.
To my niece, Flora Elizabeth Andrews, wife of Harold Andrews, I give and bequeath the money I will have to my credit in the Newfoundland Saving Bank St. John’s. I further give and bequeath to my niece, Flora Elizabeth Andrews, wife of Harold Andrews, my Piano House furniture, and all the rest residue and remainder of my personal and Household effects, save and except one bed known as the spare bed which is to be left in the house. Also six pictures including two portraits one of John, and one of Harriet Smith which are to be given to Flossie, and Saddie daughters of my deceased niece Henryetta Hampton and I appoint my brother Azariah Smith sole executor of this my last will and revoke all previous wills made by me
In witness whereof I have unto set my hand this twelfth day of January one thousand nine hundred and sixteen. Ann Maria her X mark Daw Signed by the said Ann Maria Daw the Testatrix in the presence of us who in her presence and in the presence of each other at the same time subscribe our names as witnesses.

Codicil This is a codicil to the last will and Testament of me Ann Maria Daw, widow of Capt. Henry Daw, of Port-de-Grave as aforesaid I further give and bequeath for repairs to St. Lukes Church, Ship Cove. Port de Grave, the sum of one hundred dollars. I direct that this sum, together with all my just and lawful debts funeral expenses and all other expenses incurred in connection with this my last will and Testament be paid out of the amount to my credit in the Bank of Montreal as specified by Receipt numbered 1135 but should there not be a sufficient amount left after payment of the above bequest to St. Lukes Church to pay my just and lawful debts and expenses as above mentioned the balance shall be paid proportionately from the other two accounts also mentioned in my last will and testament - Ann Maria her X mark Daw - Signed by the said Ann Maria Daw the Testatrix as a codicil to her last will and Testament in our presence who in her presence and in the presence of each other hereunto set our names as witnesses.
