Last Will and Testament of
James Davis of Fox Harbor
Placentia Bay. Fisherman deceased.

      This is the last will and testament of me James Davis of Fox Harbor Placentia Bay in the Island of Newfoundland Fisherman, made this seventh day of November A.D. 1892. It is my will and desire that my executors hereinafter appointed shall out of whatever monies I may die possessed of continue to invest the same and devote the interest arising out of the same to the maintenance and support of my wife Susannah Doris and my two children John and Catherine and in the event of the death or remarriage of my said wife the said interest shall be devoted to the exclusive support and maintenance of my said children. On my said children attaining the age of twenty one years should their mother be dead or married the monies which shall then be to the credit of my executors shall be equally divided amongst my said children and in the event of one of the said children dying before both shall arrive at the age of twenty one years then the survivor shall take the whole amount.

It is also my will and desire that my executors shall out of what ever monies I shall die possessed expend out of said principal sum two hundred dollars per year for three years in all six hundred dollars in educating my son and the time for beginning the education of said child shall be fixed by my said wife.

I devise and bequeath to my executors aforesaid all the property household and personal of every description whatsoever in Fox Harbor and all the land and buildings in Fox Harbor aforesaid owned and occupied by me for the use in the first place for my wife and children during my wifes life and while she shall remain single and on the death or marriage of my said wife the said property shall go to my said children to be owned equally between them And should they not continue to use and occupy the same then my executors shall lease the same and divide the proceeds amongst my said children.

I appoint Philip Davis of Fox Harbor my brother and James McGrath of Oderon (M. H.A.) executors of this my will. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name at St. John's aforesaid the day and year first above written (sgd) James Davis
Signed by the said testator in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. (Sgd) Joseph Power. (Sgd) E. P. Morris
