Will of John Curtis from Newfoundland will books volume 5 page 468-469 probate year 1890 Last will and testament In the name of God Amen the 25th day of September A.D. in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty three. I John Curtis of Trepassey planter being through the blessing of God in sound mind and memory do make this my last will and testament. First I give and bequeath to my two sons and daughter George Curtis John Curtis and Catherine my dwelling house and furniture. I give to my three sons Henry Curtis John Curtis and George Curtis my fishing boat fishing room stores and all my land property and after my death and after the death of my wife Ann Curtis and after the funeral expenses are paid whatever money then remains to be fairly divided between my three daughters Catherine Ann and Mary and afer my son John death his share of fishing boats fishing room and land property to go to his brothers Henry and George also after the death of John and Catherine their share of dwelling and furniture to go to their brother George At this same time I do appoint my two sons Henry and George Curtis executors of this my last will and testament to which I hereunto set my hand and seal this 25th day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty three.
