Last Will and Testament of
George Curtis of Kings Cove
Fisherman deceased.
In the name of God Amen. I George
Curtis, of William, of Kings Cove Bonavista Bay in the northern district of
the Island of Newfoundland fisherman do make and publish my last will and Testament
in manner following that is to say. I give devise and bequeath to my daughter
Maud my bedstead bed and bedding. I give devise and bequeath to my brother
James Curtis my dwelling house with the contents thereof except as hereinbefore
specified and the land surrounding it. I give devise and bequeath to my brother
Thomas Curtis my half of the cellar. I give devise and bequeath to my brothers
James and Thomas Curtis aforesaid my piece of land on the Plate Cove Road which
I hold under grant from the Crown consisting of three acres in equal parts I
give devise and bequeath to my daughters Maud and Frances in equal shares all
monies of which I may die possessed after my debts funeral expenses and headstone
are paid. Also I give devise and bequeath to my daughters Maud and
Frances aforesaid all other monies or property to which I am entitled whatsoever the
same may be and wheresoever situate in equal shares. Also I appoint Samuel
Brown Senior of Kings Cove aforesaid to be the executor of this my last will
and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and
seal this twenty sixth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand
nine hundred and one (sgd) George Curtis (LS) witnesses to the signature of
George Curtis who signed sealed and delivered the above document as his last
will and testament in our presence who in his presence and in the presence
of each other have hereunto signed our names as attesting witnesses. (Sgd)

I certify the foregoing to be a correct
copy of the last will and Testament of George Curtis deceased
