Last will and Testament
of Elizabeth Croke
of St. John's, Licensed Publican Deceased.

This is the last will and Testament of me Elizabeth Croke at present of St. John's in the island of Newfoundland widow, made and executed this twenty ninth day of March A.D. 1890. First I devise and bequeath to my niece Mary Skinner widow of Captain Patrick Skinner my interest in the dwelling house I now reside in also the furniture in the said house of every description also all the stock in trade of me and in the said shop and house also the sum of two hundred dollars also the dwelling house situate on Hutching's Street now in the occupancy of one Benjamin Williams. To have and to hold the same to the said Mary Skinner for ever. I devise that my executor hereinafter mentioned shall (out of whatever money shall remain after my debts and funeral expenses are paid) pay the following sums of money to the following persons. To May Collins my niece wife of Jas. Collins the sum of four hundred dollars ($400) To Joseph McDonald my nephew the sum of two hundred dollars ($200). To clergymen for masses for my soul one hundred dollars $100. To the administrator of the diocese of St. John's for high mass for my soul forty dollars. To the Reverend John Ryan P.P. St. Patricks twenty dollars to my servant Maggie Casey the sum of twenty dollars and a four dollar suit of clothes To my servant Maggie Leonard one suit of clothes valued at four dollars all the rest and residue of my said estate after the said amounts are paid and the further of one hundred dollars to Ellen Brien widow of James Brien shall go to my sister Mary Cantwell wife of John Cantwell I desire that my executor hereinafter mentioned shall erect a suitable monument to my memory to be placed in Belvidere Cemetery. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name at Saint John's aforesaid the day and date first above written. I appoint the Hon. E. P. Morris executor of my will Elizabeth Croke Signed by the said testatrix as and for her last will and Testament in the presence of us who in her presence at her request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses E. P. Morris John Cramp.
I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and testament of Elizabeth Croke.
