Will of John Costelloe from Newfoundland will books volume 5 pages 104-105 probate year 1887. The last will and Testament This is the last will and Testament of me John Costelloee of Ferryland in the Island of Newfoundland made this twenty sixth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eight three.
(1) I revoke all my former testamentary instruments
(2) I give and bequeath to my son John his heirs executors or administrators the dwelling house with the appurtenances in which he at present occupies and resides.
(3) I devise and bequeath to my son Joseph (his heirs executors or administrators) the dwelling house at present occupied by Constable Corbett with the appurtenances with all the land attached to it as well as the garden on the Gage and also gardens in Horse Snap.
(4) To my son William I devise and bequeath the dwelling house and stage now occupied by myself with all the appurtenances thereof it was his property previously by purchase.
(5) To my daughter Mary and my son Joseph I give all my household furniture linen china and glass and all other household stores of which I shall die possessed.
(6) I give and bequeath to my son William (his heirs and executors) the sum of two hundred and fifty pounds currency upon trust to be invested by him in or upon any public stock fund share or security for the sole use and benefit of my daughter Mary the interest or income arising therefrom to be received by her so long as she remains unmarried and at her death the principal of said money to be divided equally between my sons John William and Joseph in the event of my daughter Mary getting married ??? invested may be realized and that the sum of seventy pounds be paid to her absolutely free from all control the remainder of the money to be equally divided between my sons John William and Joseph (7) I bequeath the sum of fifty pounds for the liquidation of my funeral testamentary and other expenses including the sum of five pounds to be paid to the nuns at Ferryland and five pounds to the Revd. M. Clancey for Masses for my soul
