Last will and testament
of John Collier
of Codroy Farmer Deceased

In the name of God Amen.

I John Collier Senr though infirm and feeble in body, being thank God perfectly sound and collected in mind and feeling that I may be called hence at any moment, do think it my duty to make my last will and testament; and without reservation, I accordingly declare this to be my last will and testament. In the first place I commend the whole of myself, body soul and spirit to the merciful keeping of my good Creator; with an humble reliance, notwithstanding my manifold sins and infirmities upon the only mediation of our divine Redeemer and the everlasting fellowships of the Holy Spirit.
Next I bequeath to my son George Manuel Collier my boats small and big, to number of five and all my nets fishing gear & stage and houses. My hooved cattle, sheep & pigs my houses stables and storehouses. Next I bequeath my land (with the exception of the top part fenced in) to my son George Manual Collier. But I will that my daughter Mary Collier shall have the top part fenced in as long as she shall require it. If she should leave Codroy, I will that this top part fenced in shall become the property of George Manuel Collier. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal. Dated this 1st day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty eight. John his x mark Collier (L.S.) Witness to signature W. S. Raffins
This will was made in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names Thomas Youden William H. Kendle witnesses Codroy Newfoundland 1 Sep 1888
I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and testament of John Collier
