Will of Augustus Eneas Coffin
from Newfoundland will books volume 13 pages 577-578 probate year 1927

In re
      AUGUSTUS ENEAS COFFIN.     DECEASED.

I AUGUSTUS ENEAS COFFIN of 143 Gower Street, St. John’s, Newfoundland at present residing at Clarence Villa Barnards Green Malvern in the County of Worcester England hereby revoke all former Wills made by me and declare this to be my last Will.

  1. I APPOINT William Hitchcock of St. John’s Newfoundland and my wife Sarah Coffin thereinafter called my Trustees) to be Executors and Trustees of this my Will.

  2. SUBJECT to the payment of my just debts funeral and testamentary Expenses I GIVE DEVISE AND BEQUEATH all my property both real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever unto my Trustees UPON TRUST to pay the income thereof to my said wife during her life and from and after the death of my said wife to pay the sum of Twenty five dollars to the Rector of the Church of England Cathedral at St. John’s Newfoundland for the sick-poor of the Cathedral Parish and the sum of Twenty five dollars to the Church of England Orphanage at St. John’s Newfoundland and subject to the payment of the beforementioned two legacies to divide my estate amongst my four children hereinafter named in the shares following that is to say
    TO my son Percival Ridout Coffin a one-sixth share
    TO my son Theophilus Clement Coffin another one-sixth share
    TO my daughter Alice Maud Bennett a one-third share and
    TO my son Lesley Gordon Coffin the remaining one third share
    PROVIDED ALWAYS that if any of my said children shall die in my lifetime leaving a child or children living at my death who being a son or sons attain the age of Twenty one years or being a daughter or daughters attain that age or marry under that age then and in every such case the last mentioned child or children shall take and if more than one equally between them the share which his her or their parent would have taken in my estate if such parent had survived me.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set my hand this Eighteenth day of May One thousand nine hundred and twenty five.

SIGNED by the said Testator Augustus Eneas Coffin as his last Will in the presence of us both present at the same time who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other hereto subscribe our names as witnesses.
