Last will and testament
of Samuel Clarke
of Brigus Planter Deceased

This is the last will and testament of me Samuel Clarke of Brigus Conception Bay Planter First I desire and bequeath to my wife Mary Ann all my land with house and all house furniture other erections thereon for her own use as long as her my wife lives after her death the above said land and house and house furniture all other erections thereon is to become the property of my son John Clarke. Second I give and bequeath to my wife for her support the sum of twenty five pounds yearly and every year as long as she lives to be paid out of the monies now in the Commercial Bank and in Government debentures if any money remain after the death of my wife it is to become my sons or his children after his death. Third should my son John die leaving no child all my property aforesaid is to be divided between all my children provided my son shall leave a wife she is to have the dwelling house and a child's part of the land as long as she remains a widow. Fourth. I give and bequeath to my son John my part of the piece of land purchased from George Gushue. Fifth. I also desire that all my children unmarried shall have a home here till married. Sixth. I give and bequeath to my eight daughters the sum of one pound currency cash and to Louisa daughter of Mary Ann Clarke one pound after the death of my wife provided there is any money remains. Seventh. Should my son die leaving no child the money is to be divided between all my daughters share and share alike. Eight. I give to my wife the pew in the Wesleyan Church as long as she lives at her death it becomes my sons John Clark.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal at Brigus Conception Bay Newfoundland this nineteenth day of April one thousand eight and eighty eight. I appoint Robert Clarke & John Clarke executors to my last will and testament Samuel his x mark Clarke. Signed sealed and delivered by the said testator who in our presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto set my hand and seal at Brigus aforesaid and at the time above written Moses Clarke Cabeb Clarke.
I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and testament of Samuel Clarke deceased.
