Will of Sarah Charles
from Newfoundland will books volume 13 page 271 probate year 1926

In re
      SARAH CHARLES.     DECEASED.

This is the last will and testament of me, Sarah Charles, of St. John’s in the Island of Newfoundland, Widow.

I revoke all former wills by me at any time made, and I appoint my brother Thomas Hellyer to be the Executor of this my will. I will and direct that my just debts and my funeral and testamentary expenses shall be first paid out of my estate. I give and bequeath my household furniture and all my personal effects to my daughter Elsie Sellars. I will and direct that my Executor shall as soon as possible after my decease sell and dispose of my property at Quidi Vidi, giving first chance to purchase to the present tenant Cook. The proceeds from such sale, together with any money on hand or on deposit in the bank or secured by way of mortgage I will and direct shall be paid out by my said Executor in five equal shares, namely one share each to my children John, Annie, Otto and Elsie and one share between the children of my deceased son William.

In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my hand at St. John’s aforesaid this twenty-fourth day of November, A.D. 1922.

Signed Published and declared by the Testatrix as and for her last will and testament in presence of us, both being present at the same time who at her request and in her presence have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses attesting the due execution hereof the same having been first read over and explained to the testatrix who appeared perfectly to understand the same and who signed the same by making her mark thereto in our presence.
