Will of Harry B. Chamberlain
from Newfoundland will books volume 10 pages 595 to 597 probate year 1917

In re
      Harry B. Chamberlain deceased.

      This is the last will and Testament of me Harry B. Chamberlain of Grand Falls Newfoundland, Physician and Surgeon
(1) I revoke all wills heretofore by me made
(2)    I appoint the Eastern Trust Company my executors
(3) I give devise and bequeath everything whether real or personal or chattels real of which I am possessed or entitled to, to my said Executors upon Trust after payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses:-

First:    As soon as possible after my death to transfer to my wife Mary McNeil Chamberlain, all my household furniture, pictures, plate, linen and personal belongings and effects of every description and to pay her the sum of Seven Hundred and fifty dollars ($750.00).

Second: To hold my shares in Montreal Light Heat and Power Company, Cedar Rapids Power Company, Ottawa Light Heat and Power Company, Bell Telephone Company of Canada, Shawinigan Water and Power Company and to pay over the income arising therefrom quarterly to my wife Mary McNeil Chamberlain during the term of her natural life and upon the death of the said Mary McNeil Chamberlain to dispose of the said shares as she may by testamentary disposition direct or in the event of no such testamentary disposition being made by the said Mary McNeil Chamberlain then and in such case to her personal representatives. My said Executors are hereby given power and authority should they at any time think it undesirable to retain the said shares to sell and dispose of the same or any of them and to reinvest the proceeds arising from such sale or sales in other securities which they may deem sound and reliable, and the said securities shall be subject to this Second trust in place of such of the said shares as shall have been sold.

Third: to transfer to my mother Susie Chamberlain the lots owned by me in the Parish of Kildman, Winnipeg Man. situate on Burrin Boulevard.

Fourth: To realize and invest a further sum of Six Thousand Three Hundred and Seventy five dollars ($6375.00) in such securities as trustees are authorized by law to invest in and to pay the income arising therefrom to the said Mary McNeil Chamberlain during her lifetime provided she remains unmarried and upon her death or remarriage to pay the following legacies out of the said fund to the following persons
(a) To each of the three sons of Mr. F. Mel Jouitt of Hollins Hall, Harrowgate, Yorkshire England, the sum of Seven Hundred Dollars ($700.00)
(b) To Henry Stone of Perth Ontario Canada or if he be dead to his personal representatives the sum of Five Hundred dollars ($500.00)
( c) To the oldest son of Edward L. Stone of Hamiota Manitoba who shall be living at the time of my death the sum of Five hundred dollars ($500.00).
(d) To my nephew Charles Rankin Chamberlain the sum of Twenty five hundred dollars ($2500.00)
(e) To Florence Brigham of Lisbon New Hampshire the sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00)
(f) To Frank D. Howard of Lisbon New Hampshire, or if he be dead, to his personal representatives the sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00
(g) To Arthur K. Weston of Lisbon New Hampshire the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00)
(h) To Walter Jassamon of Lisbon New Hampshire the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00).

Fifth: To realize and invest all the rest residue and remainder of my estate in such securities as Trustees are authorized to invest in and to pay the income arising therefrom in equal shares to my wife Mary McNeil Chamberlain during her lifetime provided she remains unmarried and to my mother Susie Chamberlain and upon the death or remarriage of my wife Mary McNeil Chamberlain to pay over or transfer the said principal fund or corpus provided by this section to my mother Susie Chamberlain.    Should however my mother predecease my said wife Mary McNeil Chamberlain and the said Mary McNeil Chamberlain be unmarried at the time of my said mother’s decease then the said principal fund or corpus provided by this section is to be paid over or transferred to the said Mary McNeil Chamberlain. In witness whereof I the said Harry B. Chamberlain have to this my last will and testament set my name this first day of August in the year of our Lord, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen. Chamberlain - Signed, published and declared by the Testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
