Will of Daniel Chafe
from Newfoundland will books volume 12 page 484 probate year 1923

In re
      DANIEL CHAFE.          DECEASED.

This is the last will and testament of me Daniel Chafe of Petty Harbour in the Electoral District of St. John’s West, fisherman in the Island of Newfoundland fisherman made the third day of September A.D. 1923.

      I hereby revoke all former wills and testamentary dispositions by me at any time heretofore made. I appoint my son Pierce to be the Executor of this my will.

      I hereby confirm the transfer of the piece of land near the Power House, Petty Harbour to my daughter Maggie Pridham.

      I bequeath the money belonging to me in the Bank of Montreal to my wife, my two sons Pierce and Edward and my four daughters Maggie Pridham, Bridget Pridham, Lucy Stack and Minnie Heffernan, share and share alike.

      I give devise and bequeath my fishing stage at Petty Harbour to my two sons, Pierce and Edward, share and alike.

      I give devise and bequeath my barn and land, boats and all my other property of every description and wheresoever situate to my son Pierce.

      IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto subscribed my name to this my will the day and year first above written.

Signed published and declared by the above named Daniel Chafe as and for his last will and testament in our presence both being present at the same time who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
