Articles of an agreement indented & concluded and agreed upon this ninth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifteen between John Walsh of St. John's of the one part and Nicholas Newell of the other part, the rent to be ??? and to be paid the 20^th day of October in cash or good bills of exchange for all of the ground, his father kept the western part of it. If any of the parties break this agreement is to pay £10.10. The time is 17 years from the year until the last day.

Deliver the instrument of mortgage which is hereunto annexed. And that he was also present and did see the said John Walsh sign the receipt for ten shillings of which is also hereunto annexed.
