Volume 14, page 238, 1806 Bill of Sale William Marshall of Freshwater to Kemp & Co. THIS INDENTURE made the 10th Day of June in the forty sixth year of the reign of our sovereign lord George the third by the grace of God od the united Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King Defender of the faith and no faith and in the year of our lord one thousand eight Hundred and six BETWEEN William Marshall of Fresh Water in the District of Conception Bay and Island of Newfoundland Planter of one part and Henry C. Watts of Carbonear in the District and Island Merchant attorney or Agent for Geo Kemp and James Kemp (?) of the town and country of Poole Merchants and Copartners of the other but NOW THIS INDENTURE winesseth that the said William Marshall for and in Consideration of the sum of Twenty six pounds of Lawful Money of great Britain to him paid in Hand the accept whereof the said William Marshall doth hereby acknowledge and himself to be there with fully and perfectly satisfied HATH granted, Bargained, sold, Assigned, transferred, and set over and by these presents DOTH grant, Bargain, Sell, Assign, Transfer and set over unto him the said Henry C. Watts for them the said George Kemp and James Kemp and Co. All that fishing room or plantation situate in Fresh Water aforesaid which is bounded on the north east by a small plantation lately sold by the sheriff of this District to Geo. & James Kemp Co. on the S West by a small plantation belonging to Elizabeth Andrews of Harbour Grace and the East & Sou East by the Sea and the West by the woods being twelve (?) yards in breadth from NE to S. West together with a dwelling house & cellar and (?) (?) as well as the fence paths water caused shall and singular to the said room belonging on in any wise appertaining TO HAVE & TO HOLD the aforementioned premises unto the said Geo Kemp & Co. their heirs for ever AND the said William Marshall doth hereby for himself His Heirs Executors & Administrators Covenant bargain and agree to and with the said Henry C. Watts for the said George Kemp & James Kemp & Co. their heirs executors administrations and Assigns that he has in himself and by himself good Right full power and lawful authority to sell and dispose of the aforesaid Bargained premises & that he will for ever warrant and defend them and every of them in the full (?) entire and (?) possession thereof against the Lawful claims of any person on persons whatsoever IN WITNESS whereof the aforesaid Wm. Marshalls hath hereunto set this hand & seal the day & year first written.
