This Indenture made the sixteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty three between Richard Connell Agent for William Danson at his Establishment at Holyrood of the one part and Thomas Danson of Harbour Grace Merchant of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Thomas Danson hath purchased by indenture of a conditional bill of sale or mortgage from Philip Hynes of Holyrood Planter of all the said Philip Hynes his fishing Room and Plantation consisting of Stage, Houses, Flakes, Gardens, and meadow ground and other erections thereon as is more particularly mentioned in said Bill of Sale bearing date the sixteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred and fourteen which said Bill of Sale is recorded in the Book of Records kept in the court house at Harbour Grace for the district of Conception Bay - October the twenty third, one thousand eight hundred and sixteen Book 6, Page 9, for the sum of twenty four pounds ten shillings and six pence sterling which Bill of Sale is given by the said Thomas Danson to the said Richard Connell with this indenture of Bill of Sale,the said Bill of Sale being foreclosed by order of the Surrogate Court this day before the signing of this indenture with the consent of the said Philip Hynes in the Surrogate Court at the request of said Thomas Danson.

Further Witnesseth that in consideration of the sum of twelve pounds sterling being paid to the said Thomas Danson the receipt whereof the said Thomas Danson doth hereby acknowledge to be paid him in full by the said Richard Connell in behalf of the said William Danson at the signing of this Indenture the said Thomas Danson hath granted bargained and sold unto the said Richard Connell in behalf of the said William Danson by and with the consent also of the said Philip Hynes and to the Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns of said William Danson all that Plantation and Fishing Room say Stage, Flakes, Dwelling House, Gardens, Meadow Grounds that is at this day cleared out of the woods by the said Philip Hynes and in his possession situated in Holyrood Conception Bay bounded on the East by James Healeys Room and John Allcoughs Room on the West, to have and to hold the said bargained premises from this date for ever as they are now become the property of the said William Danson from this day forward.

This Indenture is considered by the Parties concerned as binding as if written in due form of Law, the said Philip Hynes agreed to deliver up on demand of the said William Danson his Heirs, Executors, Administrators or Assigns the within named premises agreeable to this Bill of Sale.

In Witness whereof we the said Richard Connell on behalf of said William Danson, Thomas Danson and Philip Hynes have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals in Harbour Grace in the district of Conception Bay the day and year before written..

The foregoing is a true copy taken from the original instrument of writing exhibited for enrolment on the 24th day of Nov. 1823 thus done at the request of William Danson this fourth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and twenty five being duly compared by me.
