Samuel Butler & Peter MacPherson

 

 

V. 18, P. 120

Know all Men by these presents that I Samuel Butler of Back Cove, Port de Grave, Planter, for and in consideration of the sum of thirty seven pounds eighteen shillings and seven pence sterling of lawful money of Great Britain to me in hand will and truly paid. Receipt of which I do hereby acknowledge have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain, and sell unto Peter McPherson of Bareneed, Conception Bay all that Fishing Room of mine situate in Back Cove, Port de Grave comprising of Dwelling House, Stage, Flakes, Gardens & Meadow Ground that I possess together with all ways, passages, paths, liberties, privileges, and appurtenances thereunto belonging or at any time was considered a part or parcel thereof To Have and to Hold the said bargained premises unto him the aforesaid P. MacPherson, his Heirs or Assigns for ever, and against the claim of any person or persons whatsoever.

I also sell unto the aforesaid P. MacPherson in consideration of the before mentioned sum my Boat & Craft, the Boat is 10 feet 1 inch wide """"

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and seal at Bareneed this twentieth day of May one thousand eight hundred and twenty five.

It is hereby agreed to by the parties to the foregoing Bill of Sale of Room, Boat & Craft, that if the said Samuel Butler, his Heirs or Assigns shall well and truly pay unto Peter MacPherson, his Heirs or Assigns the sum of seven pounds eighteen shillings and seven pence, on or before the tenth day of September 1825 and six pounds on each succeeding tenth day of September as Rent of the Room & Hire of the Boat until the full sum of thirty seven pounds eighteen shillings & seven pence is paid that the then forgoing Bill of Sale to be void, and of none effect, otherwise to remain in full force and effect. Dated at Bareneed Twentieth day of May One Thousand Eight hundred & Twenty five.
