George Brown - Silas Knight

 

To all whom these presents shall come. I the with in named George Brown send greetings. Where as the messuage tenement and pieces and parcels of land comprised with the foregoing written indenture were purchased by me at the request and on respect and behalf of my grandson Silas Knight of Bonavista aforesaid. Now know ye that I the said George Brown do hereby acknowledge and declare that the sum of one hundred pounds current money of this Island within mentioned to be paid by me as the consideration of and for the purchase of the messuage ,Tenement, pieces and parcels of land therein comprised and so hereby conveyed to me and my heirs as by the foregoing written indenture is mentioned, was the proper money of the said Silas Knight presented to him by me as the consideration of and for the purchase of the messuage lands and tenement aforesaid and that the ?? of me the said George Brown was made use of in the said indenture in trust only for him the said Silas Knight his heirs and assigns upon no other trust intents or purposes whatsoever ----- and I the said George Brown for myself my heirs, executors and administrators do by these presents wholly and utterly renounce and disclaim all and all manner of benificial interest or other estate right, title claim and demand whatsoever as well legal or equitable in, to, upon or respective the messauge land and tenements by the within indenture granted and released or otherwise applied unto me, my heirs and assigns as therein is mentioned except only and otherwise then in trust for the said Silas Knight his heirs and assigns and I do also grant and declare that I my heirs assigns and all and every person and persons at any time here after lawfully ???? or possessing any estate right title or interest into or concerning the said messuage tenement and parcels of land and premises or any of them shall and will from time to time and at all or any times hereafter at the request cost and expense of the said Silas Knight his heirs or assigns, grant, release, convey and ??? the messuage lands, tenements and premises and every of them with their and every of their appurtanaces and all such the said estate, right title and interest of me the said George Brown my heirs or assigns in or to the same, ??? and to the use of or for him the said Silas Knight his heirs and assigns forever or unto and to the use of or for such other person or persons upon such trusts and for such ends, intents and purpose as he or they shall be any writing under his or their hand appoint and that free and clear and absolutly and effectively discharged and exonerated of and from all liens , charges and incumberances what so ever made occuring or knowingly suffered by me the said George Brown or my heirs or any person or persons as aforesaid deriving title from or under me or them and further that in the meantime and until such grant, releash, conveyance and assurance shall be made and perfected I the said George Brown, my heirs and all and every such person or persons as aforesaid shall and will stand seized of and instructed in all and every the said messuage lands and tenements and premises in trust only and for the sole use behoof and benifit of him the said Silas Knight his heirs and appointees and assigns for ever In witness where of I have here onto set my hand and seal at Bonavista on the day and date set forth in the foregoing bill of sale.

Nathan P Knights full name was Nathan Parker Knight and he was married to Ann Brown daughter of George Brown and Sussanah Spurdle
George Brown was the son of William Brown Esq and Mary ( maiden name unknown)
