Will of Elizabeth A. Casey
from Newfoundland will books volume 10 pages 175 & 176 probate year 1914.

In re
     Elizabeth A. Casey       deceased.

This is the last will and Testament of me Elizabeth Ann Casey of Saint John's West in the Island of Newfoundland, Widow, hereby revoking all other and former wills by me at any time made. After the payment of all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses, I give, devise and bequeath to my son Peter Casey of Saint John's, Butcher, all the property of every description of which I may die possessed. I appoint my said son Peter, Executor of this my will. Dated at Saint John's this 24th day of June, 1912. - Elizabeth Ann Casey - Signed Published, and Declared by the said Testatrix as and for her last will and Testament in our presence, who in her presence, at her request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. Patrick J. Kane    George T. Carty.

Note: The wills in those will books are NOT actual wills. They are hand-written copies of a, "last will and testament," written by the court clerk, after the death of the testator, when the executor presented them to the court for probate. The court clerk didn't list the signatures at the bottom, he (or she) just put them in the book in whatever order they were in, on the original document, no spacing most of the time, no punctuation. The originals were kept by the executor.

We who have typed these wills, have made every effort to include all the errors that were on the microfilm, in order to avoid destroying the integrity of the originals, where ever they may be.
