In re
Thomas Carter deceased.
Know all men that I Thomas Carter sound of mind tho not of body declare the following to be my last will
and Testament.
- To my beloved wife Caroline. I bequeath the property
at Humbermouth, to wit Victoria Place and all the land belonging thereto
as well as that running south from main road
- I bequeath to her also half the money in the Bank of Nova Scotia,
Boston, for her use till death at which time my son Herbert shall
inherit the balance remaining
- To my son Hubert I bequeath the properties lying on the right
bank i.e. the north side of the Humber, to wit, house and land
on summer side: land at Irishtown; and the farm at “Meadows”
- To my son Herbert I also leave half the money in the Bank
of Nova Scotia Boston; and also all the money deposited in
my name at the Bank of Montreal, Bay of Islands.
- To my son Herbert I bequeath all outstanding debts contracted
by dealers in the course of their business transactions with
me.
- All the property on the north eastern point of Woods Island,
to wit House shop and all stores & sheds on the property.
Also farm and farming implements as well as all the cattle.
I bequeath to my youngest daughter Maud now Mrs. M.
Murray;
but all the fishing gear, nets and boats shall belong to my
son Herbert

I bequeath to Herbert also the land on the southern shore
of Woods Island, that is the property purchased by me from
Augustus Jusseau now residing at Port au Port
