Last will and Testament of
Sir Frederic B. T. Carter of St. John’s
K. C. M. G. deceased

      I Sir Frederic B. T. Carter do make and declare the following as and for my last will and Testament I appoint my sons Hugh Hoyles and Henry Davis Carter the executors hereof. I give and bequeath to them all and singular my real and personal estate to be held by them in Trust for the support and maintenance of my daughter Lucretia my executors shall apply all the rents issues interest and profits therefrom towards her support while she remains unmarried together the interest arising from and out of all investments of the proceeds due or falling due under any policy of Insurance I have on my life and apply said interest in like manner to the maintenance and support of my said daughter whilst she may remain unmarried in the event of her death or marriage, then my general estate shall be distributed equally among all my children and grandchildren.
To my said son Hugh Hoyles I will and bequeath all my law and other books.
Dated at St. John’s this twenty sixth day of January A.D. 1900 (sgd) F. B. T. Carter
Signed and declared by Sir Frederic B. T. Carter on the day of said date in our presence who have signed the same in presence of each other and in the presence of Sir Frederic. (Sgd) Jos. I. Little. (Sgd) James Carter
