Will of Caroline Carter
from Newfoundland will books volume 8 pages 435-436 probate year 1908

In re
      Caroline Carter          deceased.

      This is the last and Testament of me Caroline Carter of 1 Brunswick Square Exmouth in the County of Devon. I give to my brother John Archer Ellis an annuity of sixty pounds per annum to be paid quarterly, and upon the decease of my said brother I give and bequeath the following legacies

  • To my cousin Elizabeth Mortimer Three Hundred Pounds
  • to my cousin Charlotte Wheeker Three Hundred Pounds
  • to Caroline Fisher the wife of Arthur Fisher of Pinhoe Three Hundred Pounds
  • to my cousin Mary Lindsey one Hundred pounds
  • to my cousin, Caroline Moor one Hundred Pounds
  • to Elizabeth Crutchitt Ebbels of 3 Albion Terrace Exmouth aforesaid Three Hundred Pounds

And I declare it to be my will that all the above named legacies are for the sole use and benefit absolutely of the respective persons to whom they are given
All the rest residue and remainder of my property Estate and effects of whatsoever kind and description of which I may be possessed or entitled to at my decease I give and bequeath to my two sisters Elizabeth Sloman and Mary Ann Ellis absolutely equally between them. I appoint my said two sisters Trustees and Executrixes of this my will. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-third day of January one thousand eight hundred and ninety-five hereby revoking all former wills by me at any time heretofore made. (Sgd) Caroline Carter. Signed by the said Caroline Carter the Testatrix as and for her last will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto set our names as attesting witnesses, Louisa Clarke 2 Clarence Road Exmouth Henry Norton accountant Exmouth.
