of James Callanan

I James Callanan of Harbour Grace Newfoundland shopkeeper being of sound disposing mind memory and recollection do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament. 1st. I hereby revoke all former wills made by me. 2nd. I will devise and bequeath and give to my sister Bridget Whelan of Bay Roberts widow twenty dollars. 3rd. I will devise bequeath and give to my sister Mary Mitchell of St. John's widow twenty dollars. 4th. I will devise bequeath and give to my sister Elizabeth Dawson wife of Stephen Dawson of Bay Roberts the sum of twenty dollars. 5th. I will devise bequeath and give to the Right Revd. A. Macdonald, Bishop of Harbor Grace the sum of twenty dollars for masses for the repose of my soul. 6th. I will devise bequeath and give to the Rev John March C. C. the sum of twenty dollars for masses for the repose of my soul. 7th. I will devise bequeath and give to the Revd. Felix D. McCarthy C. C. Carbonear the sum of twenty dollars for masses for the repose of my soul. 8th. I will devise bequeath and give to the Revd. Joseph Murphy C. C. Brigus the sum of twenty dollars for masses for the repose of my soul. 9th. I devise bequeath and give to the Revd John Lynch C. C. Conche the sum of twenty dollars for masses for the repose of my soul and for the repose of my father and mothers souls. 10th. I will devise bequeath and give to my dear friend the Right Revd. H. Carfaginini Bishop of Gallipoli Italy the sum of twenty dollars for masses for the repose of my soul. 11th. I will devise bequeath and give to my dear friend the Very Reverend D. Falchion (O.S.F. Procurator General order of St. Francis Na Marelana Rome Italy the sum of twenty dollars for masses for the repose of my soul. 12th. I will devise bequeath and give to the Revd Michael Hanly P.P. Holyrood the sum of ten dollars for masses for the repose of my soul. 13th. I will devise bequeath and give to the Revd. John Roe P.P. Northern Bay ten dollars for masses for the repose of my soul 14th. I will devise bequeath and give to the very Revd Thomas Lynch P.P. Kings Cove the sum of ten dollars for masses for the repose of my soul. 15th. I will devise bequeath and give to the Revd James F. Ryan C.C. Bonavista the sum of ten dollars for masses for the repose of my soul. 16. I will devise bequeath and give to my wife Julia Callanan the rest and residue of all my money or monies as well as all my household furniture goods and chattels and all my other property of whatsoever kind or wheresoever situate for the sole use and behoof of my said wife Julia Callanan forever. 16. I hereby constitute and appoint my said wife Julia Callanan to the sole executrix of this my last will and testament. 17th. It's my will wish and desire that bequests hereinbefore made under sections two to fourteen both included shall be paid immediately after my death or as soon as probate can be obtained to this my last will and testament, and that the said bequests shall be paid out of my deposit in the Harbor Grace Branch Savings Bank. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed and set my hand at Harbor Grace Newfoundland this twentieth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & ninety two James Callanan Signed by the said James Callanan the Testator in our presence who in his presence and in the presence of each other at the same time subscribe our names as witnesses John Cody Trapiel's Cove Harbor Grace Roger Scully Hills Harbor Grace.
I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and testament of James Callanan deceased.
