Will of Eleazer Bursey from Newfoundland will books volume 14 pages 129-130 probate year 1927

In re
      ELEAZER BURSEY.       DECEASED.

This is the last will and testament of me, Eleazer Bursey, of Old Perlican, Retired Janitor.

  1. I hereby revoke all former wills by me at any time made and me and declare this to be my last will and testament.
  2. I appoint my grandson Frank Moor of St. John's, Expressman, to be the sole Executor of this my last will.
  3. I wish my body to be buried beside that of my wife in the General Protestant Cemetery in St. John's and I direct that my Executor to pay the costs of my funeral expenses same however, not to exceed one hundred and fifty dollars.
  4. I direct that my Executor pay to James M. Bursey of Old Perlican and his wife with whom I have been living, a sum equal to Two hundred and forty dollars per year for such period as I may have lived with them, provided however, that there shall be deducted from this payment any moneys which I may have paid to them since January, 1927, for my support and provided further, that the said James M. Bursey shall undertake to see that after my decease my body is brought to St. John's and properly interred in the General Protestant Cemetery as hereinbefore directed. Should the said James M. Bursey fail to carry out my wishes in this regard the bequest to him shall lapse.
  5. I give devise and bequeath to my nephew Corbin John Bursey my smoking chair.
  6. All the rest residue and remainder of my estate including my bed-stead, bedding, lounge, bureau and the balance of the money in the Bank of Nova Scotia, Carbonear or elsewhere, I give devise and bequeath to my said said grandson Frank Moor.

Dated at St. John's, this Sixth day of August, 1927.
