Last Will and Testament of
Charles Bungay of Burin
Fisherman deceased.
In the name of God Amen I Charles Bungay of
Burin, Placentia Bay Newfoundland do make ordain publish and declare this to
be my last will and Testament.
First I give and bequeath to my wife
Hannah Bungay all money belonging to me deposited in the Commercial
Bank of Newfoundland for her sole use and support during her life time: after
her decease it is my wish and desire should any portion of said money remain
unexpended that it be shared equally among my four children share and share
alike.
Secondly I give and bequeath to my wife Hannah Bungay my dwelling house,
household furniture, gardens and land to be held and used by her while she
lives: after her death I give and bequeath to my son Richard George
Bungay my house, garden in front of house, stage and waterside property to the eastward
of my stage; to my two daughters Mary Agnes Bungay and Eliza
Jane Bungay all
my land lying between my dwelling house and the public road and my waterside
property to the westward of where my stage now stands.
Likewise I made constitute
and appoint my said son Richard George Bungay to be executor to this my last
will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and
affixed my seal this eighteenth day of June A.D. one thousand eight hundred
and eighty (sgd) Charles Bungay (LS) The above written instrument was subscribed
by the said Charles Bungay in our presence and acknowledged by him to each
of us; and he at the same time published and declared the above instrument
subscribed to be his last will and Testament. And we at the Testators request
and in his presence have signed our names as witnesses hereto (sgd) John
Paul. P. End. (Sgd) William John Paul
I certify the foregoing to be a correct
copy of the last will and Testament of Charles Bungay deceased
