Will of Hannah Buckley from Newfoundland will books volume 7 pages 226-227 probate year 1902 The last Will of Hannah Buckley late of This is the last will and Testament of me Hannah
Buckley of St. John's, Newfoundland, Widow, and I hereby revoke all former
wills by me made. First I give devise and bequeath unto Eliza Miller
wife of Laurence Miller of St. John's Cabinet Maker that building on Williams Lane
and now occupied by the Salvation Army and used by them as a Food Depot and
also the dwelling house next door to the above building and now tenanted by
one Stephen Crew to hold the same during the term of her natural life and after
her decease to her husband Laurence Miller for ever but should she survive
her said husband the said property shall vest in her absolutely the said Eliza
Miller or her husband Laurence Miller whichever of them may be in possession
of the property for the time being shall however pay out of the proceeds thereof
the sum of sixteen dollars per year for four years after my decease unto the
Reverend Gregory Badcock of St. Brendans, Bonavista or in case of his dying
before the completion of the time or his predeceasing me then for the remainder
of the time or for the whole time as the case may be unto the Reverend
William Jackman of the Cathedral Parish St. John's for Masses for the repose of my
soul, and also pay the sum of ten dollars per year for five years (or in lieu
thereof the sum of fifty dollars within six months after my death) unto the
Reverend John L. Slattery Principal of the Boys Industrial School Mount Cashel
for the benefit of the said Industrail school and the said Eliza Miller or
her husband Laurence Miller shall also board and lodge or provide board and
lodging for my adopted daughter Minnie Austin Buckley for the term of her natural
life or until she shall marry and the bequest of the said property for the
said Eliza Miller or Laurence Miller shall be subject to the performance by
them of the above trusts and should they or either of them fail or neglect
to perform any of their conditions the said property shall vest absolutely
in my said adopted daughter Minnie Austin Buckley subject to the payment by
her of the above pecuniary legacies. I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will of Hannah Buckley D. M. Browning (Listed in the margin next to this will the following)
