Will of Lucy Brown
from Newfoundland will books volume 13 page 201 probate year 1925

In re
      LUCY BROWN.    DECEASED.

This is the last Will and Testament of me Lucy Brown, of Fair Island, in the Island of Newfoundland, made this 7th day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twenty four.

I hereby revoke all Wills made by me at any time heretofore. I appoint my husband, James Brown, of Fair Island aforesaid to be the Executor of this my last Will and Testament, and direct that all my Debts and Funeral Expenses shall be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease.

I GIVE AND BEQUEATH unto my grandsons Gabrock Brown and Cyril Brown, to be equally divided between them, all my land and my dwelling house, subject to the following conditions, that is to say: that my daughter Lilly B. Brown be allowed to live in my house as long as she remains unmarried and have and enjoy full authority in the said house, also that when she marries and requires a dwelling house my grandsons Gabrock and Cyril are to assist in having a dwelling house built for her, that is to say, to supply all the lumber and material for the said house free of charge to my daughter and render all assistance possible to give her a good and substantial dwelling house, and further, that my daughter is to have her choice in selecting a site for the said house on any part of my land.

I ALSO GIVE AND BEQUEATH unto my said grandsons Gabrock and Cyril Brown my shop, store and waterside premises to be equally divided between them.    LUCY her X mark BROWN

Signed by the said Testator, Lucy Brown, by making her mark, the same having first been read over and explained to her which she appeared to perfectly understand, in the presence of us, present at the same time, who at her request, in her presence, and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses.
