This name is spelled Brine and Brien in the will, and Brine in the will index.

Last Will and Testament of
Emma Brine of St. John's
Spinster deceased.

      This is the last will and Testament of me Emma Brien of St. John's Spinster
First I desire that my executor hereinafter named and appointed shall pay all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses.
Secondly It is my will and desire that my executor shall invest in some good security a sum of money out of my estate sufficient to yield the sum of one hundred dollars per year which sum will be paid over to my brother William Brien for his support in half yearly payments.
Thirdly It is my will and desire that after the death of my said brother William Brine the said sum so invested for him as aforesaid shall go and become the property of the then Bishop of the Church of England to be used by him for Church purposes in St. John's.
Fourthly I will and desire that my executor shall sell my gold and silver watches and rings the money received for same to go to my general estate.
Fifthly I desire and instruct my executor to collect from Mr. James Wiseman at present residing at New York the sum of two hundred dollars with interest at the rate of six per cent to date of payment. Also to collect from Mrs Rebecca Mays of St. John's the sum of Forty dollars with interest at six per cent to date of payment. Sixthly I desire my executor to put my brother William Brien in possession of my household furniture and other effects which I may die possessed of during his life time after his death to be sold and the proceeds to go to the Bishop of the Church of England St. John's as aforesaid.
Seventhly I hereby nominate and appoint Frank J. Morris of St. John's Barrister Executor of this my last will and Testament.
Lastly I hereby revoke all other last wills that may have been made by me. (Sgd) Emma Brien. Signed by the said Testatrix as and for her last will and Testament in our presence who in her presence at her request and in the of each other have hereunto our hand set and subscribed as witness this 24th day of February A.D. 1896 (sgd) Henry Shea. (Sgd) Frank J. Morris
