Last Will and Testament of
Rev. Robert Brennan of Little Placentia
Roman Catholic Priest

      I Robert Brennan R.C. Priest of Little Placentia in the Island of Newfoundland do make and declare this and for my last will and Testament
first I direct that all my just debts and burial expenses shall be paid.
Second I bequeath and devise to my niece Mary Brennan of Newtown Cy Kilkenny Ireland (daughter of Michael Brennan) the sum of Four hundred dollars. To my nephew Jas. Brennan (brother of Mary) Four hundred dollars. To Thomas Conway of Queens Road St. John's the sum of four hundred dollars.
Third I bequeath and devise to the Female orphans of Belvidere Three hundred dollars, to my niece Eliza Cody (nun) Four hundred dollars for her own personal benefit.
Fourth I direct that two hundred dollars shall be given for Masses for the repose of my soul and one hundred dollars for Mass for the souls in Purgatory.
Fifth. I leave for the Church at Little Placentia Two hundred dollars. To the Parish Priest Fortune Bay eighty dollars to be given by him to the Indians of Bay Despair and eighty dollars for the poor of Fortune Bay.
Fifth I direct that all my household furniture, books, beds and bedding, farm stock and implements and all other property to me belonging shall be sold in due time proceeds to be given to the poor people in the Parish of Little Placentia. The residue I devise and bequeath to my executor who shall have a suitable tombstone placed at my place of burial.
And I do hereby nominate and appoint Thomas Conway of the Queen's Road St. John's executor of this my will and revoke and declare nil and void all wills by me heretofore made. Witness my hand at St. John's N.F. this Twenty sixth day of October A.D. one thousand eight hundred and ninety five. 1895. (Sgd) Robert Brennan P.P. witness to sig. (Sgd) George Gamberg.
