Last will and Testament
of John Boyde
of Twillingate Fisherman Deceased
.

This is the last will and testament of me, John Boyd, of Twillingate, Newfoundland. I hereby give and bequeath to my three sons, Thomas Andrew, Joseph and Elias Boyd, or any of them who may be residing on this room at my decease, all my waterside premises, houses, gardens, and ground, on the following conditions: viz.

The property is not to be sold nor separated during the lifetime of my wife, Mary Boyd, or my sister Thirza Boyd. But shall be in charge of my sons jointly, so long as they maintain my said wife and sister to the best of their power, should they or either of them survive me, in case of neglect to do this, or in case of the removal of all my sons from the room, to live elsewhere, my wife and sister shall have power to reside on this room, or to let it, for their own maintenance, but not to sell. On the death of the survivor of the aforesaid two women, the whole property shall pass absolutely to my surviving sons, as their joint property, to be at their sole disposal.    To my daughter Selina Elliott I give forty dollars ($40.00) currency to be paid at once; and to my aforesaid sons I give $1200.00 (twelve hundred dollars) to be divided amongst them equally; and the residue I leave to my wife, for herself and my aforesaid sister. I appoint my wife Mary Boyd Mary ??? and my son Thomas Andrew Boyd joint executors of this my will. And in witness thereof I have set my hand and seal this ninth day of January in the year of our Lord 1889. John his x mark Boyd Signed sealed and delivered in the presence of Robert Temple Frederick his x mark Rea? witnesses.
I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of this of the last will and testament of John Boyd.
