Last will and Testament of
Thomas Bone of St. Mary’s S.D.
Fisherman deceased
St. Mary’s Jan. 8: 1897 In the name of God Amen I Thos.
Bone Senr. of St. Marys being of sound
mind and memory do make and ordain this & no other as my last will
and testament, principally & first of all I bequeath my soul to God
who gave it and my body to be buried in a Christian burial ground and
as to my worldly possessions I dispose of them in the following manner
and forms.
First I bequeath to my son James Bone his heirs
during his and their natural lifes my property consisting of dwelling
house outhouses horse and all household goods together, the land belonging
to my father late Wm Bone and also the land property by Dobbins Also
the lands I purchased from Anne Tegan and Anne
Brine to have and to hold
the during the said James Bone’s his heirs & natural
lifes.
As to my fishing room I bequeath to my sons William Bone John
Bone, Thos. Bone, Michael Bone, James Bone to have and to hold
the same for their use and benefit during their lifes. Also I bequeath
my son
Wm Bone the property he posses now - I also bequeath
to my son Michael
Bone the land now in his possession during his natural life.
I also leave my beloved wife Bridget Bone to feather
beds & bedding my son James to have
my watch, he James Bone is bound to support me and his
mother during our lives and also to provide us with descent Christian
burial when it pleases God to take us. The above and no other is my last
will & testament
and in witness thereof I this day eighth day of January one thousand
eight hundred & ninety seven Sign my hand in presence of mentioned
witnesses. (Sgd) Thomas his X mark Bone Senr. Witness
