Last Will and Testament
of Matthew Bobbet
of Pass Island, Hermitage Bay, Planter, Deceased
.

This is the Last Will and Testament of me, Matthew Bobbett (Senior), at present of Pass Island, Hermitage Bay, Newfoundland, Planter.
I hereby direct that at my decease, all my funeral and testamentary expenses, and all my just debts, be first paid and settled, after which I give and bequeath to my wife, Mary Bobbett, and my son, William Bobbett, both (at present) of Pass Island, Hermitage Bay, Newfoundland. Jointly, all and every my personal effects, of every sort and description, and all money or monies in my possession at the time of my decease, or that I may be entitled to, or may become due to me, from any source whatsoever, to be equally divided between them, share and share alike, for their sole and absolute use and benefit forever. And further, in the event of my wife, the said Mary Bobbitt's decease before me, Then the whole of the before mentioned premises, I give and bequeath to my son, William Bobbitt, aforesaid, for his sole and absolute use and benefit for ever. And I hereby appoint, Edward Clench Gallop, and John Webber Taylor, both of Gaultois (Hermitage Bay jointly) Executors of this my Will. In Witness whereof, I have to this my last Will and Testament, set my hand and seal this thirty-first day of August in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-eight - Matthew (his X mark) Bobbett, Senior (L.S.) - signed sealed and delivered by the Testator, the said Matthew Bobbitt in the presence of us, who in his presence at his request, and in the presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses. It having first been read over and explained to him - Edwin J. Callum (LS) - John P. Woodmason (B.S.). I certify the foregoing a correct copy of the Last Will and Testament of Matthew Bobbitt.
