Will of James Blundon Senior from Newfoundland will books volume 5 page 620 probate year 1892 Last will and testament In the name of God Amen I James Blundon Senr of Bay de Verde (Newfoundland being weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament this is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Almighty power of God. And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. And first I give and bequeath to my son James Blundon all and every of my part houses stages flakes gardens skiffs punts nets and everything in my possession and after my son James Blundon dies I give and bequeath the same property to my daughter Tamas and after my daughter Tamas Blundon dies I give and bequeath the same property to my son John Blundon and after my son John Blundon dies he is to give and bequeath the same property to his sons at his own disposal. I do ratify this and no other as my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eighteenth day of April A.D. 1843. Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said James Blundon Senr as his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto set our names sgd James Blundon Senior (L.S.) Witness sgd. James Norris William x his mark Barter. Proved before William Christian a Comr. S. Court by James Norris a subscribing witness on the 26th day of March 1859 at Harbor Grace in the northern district. (Listed in the margin next to this will the following)
