Will of Ann Bishop
from Newfoundland will books volume 10 pages 545-546 probate year 1917

In re
      Ann Bishop          deceased.

      In the name of God. Amen.    I Ann Bishop of Long Pond in the Electoral District of Harbour Main, Newfoundland, being very sick and weak in Body, but of perfect mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and Testament. First I give and bequeath to Arthur Bishop my grandson all that I possess viz: dwelling house goods and Chattels Stable my part of the cellar that is on my land, all the cultivated land that I own and worked on and all my uncleared land one sheep two lambs and my poultry.    The land that my dwelling house stable and cellar are on is bound on the west by the local road, East by Benjamin Porter, South by the railtrack and North by Benjamin Porter. I give and bequeath to Arthur Bishop above named that piece of cleared land that is situate in Long pond and bounded on the west by the main brook East by local road South by the railtrack and north by my son Elias land
      My inside land that is on the south of the railtrack is to be equally divided between my son Eli and my grandson the said Arthur Bishop - Everything in the house is for my grandson Arthur as he used to do everything for me - And I do hereby utterly disallow, revoke and disannul all and every other former Testaments wills and bequests by me in any wise before named, willed and bequeathed, ratifying this, and no other, to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 5th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and fourteen.    Signed, sealed published pronounced and declared by the said Ann Bishop as her last will and Testament having been first read over, who in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses. (Sgd) Robert Jeffers. (Sgd) Francis F. Furneaux. Commissioner of Supreme Court of Nfld. (Sgd) Ann her X mark Bishop.
