Will of Lorena Bell from Newfoundland will books volume 14 pages 375-376 probate year 1928

CORNER BROOK
MARCH 13th 1928.
In the name of the Blessed Trinity. Amen.
This is to certify that I, Lorena Bell of sound mind and memory do bequeath my house property and land on Bells Hill Corner Brook to Josephine Fisher my adopted daughter and her daughter Mabel Lorena Fisher. In case Josephine Fisher should marry again or in case of her death the house property and land is to belong solely to Mabel Lorena Fisher. It is my express wish that my sister Julia Amanda MacDonald be permitted to live in the house as long as she wishes. What money I have in the bank I bequeath as follows.

  1. To Mabel Lorena Fisher $1000.00 to be held in trust by her mother till she reaches seventeen years of age.
  2. To Josephine Fisher $600.00 (six hundred dollars)
    Will of Mrs Lorena Bell continued.
  3. To Minnie Romaine, St. Georges District $500.00 (five hundred dollars)
  4. To Walter Romaine, St. Georges District $500.00 (five hundred dollars)
  5. To Julia Amanda MacDonald $500.00 (five hundred dollars)
  6. To Maud Burry, St Georges District $25.00 (twenty five dollars)

The Remainder of the money deposited to my savings acct in the Bank I leave to Rev. N. G. Vivian Rector of the Church of the Holy Cross Corner Brook to pay for any expenses in regard to my burial and for a headstone first of all and then should there still be any money left it will be shared proportionately among those mentioned above excepting Maud Burry. The Bank of Montreal also holds $300.00 (Three hundred dollars) in Government Bonds these I leave in trust to the Rector and wardens of Holy Cross Church, Corner Brook, with the instructions that they will see that my grave is kept in good condition from the income on these bonds
Will of Mrs Bell continued
or from the income derived from the re-investment of these N. G. V the money when these Bonds become due. The remainder of the income on this investment, if any, is to be applied to the Church Funds of Holy Cross Corner Brook to the memory of Lorena Bell.

I hereby appoint Dr. F. Fisher of Corner Brook to be the executor of this my will.
