The petition of Bertram Bastow, of St. John's, Truckman, sets forth as follows:

  1. Ernest Augustus Bastow, late of St. John's, Farmer, died at that place on the 17th day of October, A. D. 1929, having first made and executed his last will and testament, which said last will and testament duly proven upon the oath of Leslie R. Curtis, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto is hereto annexed marked "A".

  2. Said deceased left him surviving as sole next-of-kin two children, namely, a son Bertram Bastow, your petitioner, and a daughter Annie Thorne.

  3. Margaret Ann Bastow, wife of the deceased, and sole executor of the said last will died two years ago.

  4. At the date of his death said deceased was possessed of property within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court of a value not exceeding $430.00 as will more fully appear by reference to the inventory hereto annexed marked "B" which is to be taken as a part hereof.

Your petitioner prays that Letters of Administration of the estate of the deceased may be granted to him, and as in duty bound he will ever pray.

Dated at St. John's this 24th day of October, A. D. 1929.

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF ME, ERNEST AUGUSTUS BASTOW of St. John's, Newfoundland, Agent of the Society for the Protection of Animals. I give, devise and bequeath all my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my dear wife Margaret Ann Bastow absolutely. And I appoint my said wife sole executrix of this my will.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF I have hereunto set may hand this
13th day of May, A.D. 1920.
