Will of Joseph Bartlett Senior
from Newfoundland will books volume 7 page 66 probate year 1901

Last Will and Testament of
Joseph Bartlett Sr. of Brigus
Master Mariner deceased.

      I Joseph Bartlett Sr of Brigus C.B. Newfoundland, being of sound mind, memory and understanding, do make and ordain this to be my last will and Testament in the manner and form following viz: - I give and bequeath to my son John Bartlett my Room or premises at Bateau, Labrador, and all my fishing gear and fishing boats. I give and bequeath my own dwelling house, store and garden to my daughter Henrietta Roberts The dwelling house my son John Bartlett lives in I give and bequeath to him. I give and bequeath the Pond Garden and Farm to my sons John and Robert Bartlett to be equally divided between them. I also make the following bequests: I give my own bed and bedstead and wash stand to Annie Horwood; a bed, chest of drawers and table to Emmie Wilcox: a bed, a large table and rocking chair to Bertha Rushie; a couch and six straw bottom chairs to Susie Smith six chairs to Robert Bartlett; a large looking glass to Bessie Bartlett (John's wife) a large bible to Emmie Wilcox and a small one to Annie Horwood; And all the glassware and crockeryware and knives and forks are to be divided between my five daughters. All my own clothes I give to my grandson Thomas Bartlett. I hereby appoint John his x mark Wilcox executor to this my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the 1st day March A.D. one thousand nine hundred. (Sgd) Joseph his x mark Bartlett (LS) Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator Joseph Bartlett Sr. As and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us, who have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto in the presence of the said Testator. (Sgd) Henry T. Bartlett (sgd) Joseph Bartlett Jr. Witnesses.

      I certify the foregoing to be a correct copy of the last will and Testament of Joseph Bartlett Sr. deceased
