Will of Henry George Barrett from Newfoundland will books volume 15 page 581 probate year 1932.

IN RE          DECEASED.
Henry George Barrett

This is the last will and Testament of me George Barrett of St. John's, Customs Officer.

  1. I hereby revoke all former wills and testamentary dispositions by me at any time made and declare this to be my last will and testament.
  2. I hereby appoint my son Fred W. Barrett and my daughter Julia Barrett to be Executors of this my will.
  3. The land leased from Carey's Estate I give devise and bequeath to my son Allen. This is the land on which his house is built. I also give him two hundred dollars.
  4. I give devise and bequeath to my son Fred W. Barrett as a wedding present the sum of Five Hundred dollars. This amount may be paid to him upon his request even before his marriage.
  5. To my son Ralph Barrett I give devise and bequeath the sum of Two hundred dollars.
  6. To my brother Eleazer, in British Columbia (if alive) I give devise and bequeath one hundred dollars.
  7. All the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, including my house on Freshwater Road and its furniture and contents I give devise and bequeath to my executors IN TRUST for the uses and benefits following that is to say;
    (a) To my dear wife, while she lives and remains unmarried the use jointly with my daughters while they remain unmarried, of my house and furniture.
    (B) The interest on my monies in the Royal Bank of Canada, the Bank of Nova Scotia and elsewhere, I give devise and bequeath to my wife subject as aforesaid
    (c) After the death of my said wife I give devise and bequeath the said house, its furniture and contents, also all my monies in the Banks aforesaid and elsewhere to my two daughters, Julia and Ethel.
    (d) As long as my daughters , or either one of them remain or remains single I direct that they or she shall have (jointly with their mother while living) the full benefit of my house and furniture.

Witness my hand this 25th day of February, 1932.
