Will of James Barbour
from Newfoundland will books volume 13 pages 591-592 probate year 1927

In re
      JAMES BARBOUR.    DECEASED.

This is the last will and testament of me James Barbour of Newtown, Bonavista Bay, Fisherman

First: - I give, devise and bequeath to my wife Frances Maria one third of all my property, real and personal of what nature and kind soever and wheresoever the same shall be at the time of my death.

Second: - I give, devise and bequeath to each of my daughters the sum of Two Hundred Dollars.

Third: - I give, devise and bequeath the balance of all monies and property as follows:- All monies to be divided equally between all my sons and my Son-in-Law Solomon Perry of Newtown, fisherman, with the exception of my son Manuel who shall have Two Hundred Dollars more than the others share as above mentioned and I hereby direct that from Solomon Perrys share Two Hundred Dollars shall be taken and paid and divided amongst the children of my deceased daughter Keziah. My shop to be divided as follows:- One share to each of my sons and one-half share to my Son-in-law Solomon Perry. All my remaining property consisting of house, lands, fishing Stores, Schooner, traps, boats etc to be divided equally between my five sons and my Son-in-Law Solomon Perry, share and share alike.

Fourth: - I hereby appoint my Executor hereinafter named to pay all my debts, testamentary and funeral expenses as soon as practicable after my death.

Fifth: - I hereby appoint my sons Manuel & William and given them power to with draw monies from the Banks.

Sixth: - I hereby appoint Samuel Barbour of Newtown to be the sole and only Executor of this my last will and testament and I hereby revoke all former and other wills and testamentary papers by me at any time heretofore made.

In witness whereof I, James Barbour the testator to this my last will and testament set my hand this 5th day of June, A.D. 1926. in the Village of Newtown.

Signed, published and declared by the above named James Barbour as and for his last will and testament, in the presence of us, who have hereunto subscribed our names at his request, as witnesses thereto in the presence of the said testator, and of each other.
