Last will and Testament of
Thomas Avery of Catalina N.D.
Planter deceased

      This is the last will and Testament of me Thomas Avery of Catalina formerly of Grates Cove Newfoundland.
2. I give devise and bequeath all my freehold messuage or tenement in which I now reside with the gardens outbuildings and appurtenances thereunto belonging and situate at Catalina aforesaid unto my Grandson Thomas Henry Avery, son of my son Simeon Avery.
3. I also give and bequeath all my lands situate at Grates Cove unto my two sons William Thomas and Jonah Avery to be equally divided between them.
4. I give and bequeath whatever money and all money that I may be possessed of at my decease to my six children namely. Mary Patience Lydia William Thomas Simeon and Jonah Avery to be equally divided amongst them.
5. And I hereby appoint my two sons William Thomas and Simeon Avery aforesaid to be Executors of this my will, and revoke all previous wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this to be my last will and Testament. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal at Catalina aforesaid this fourth day of July Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and ninety eight (sgd) Thomas Avery (LS). Signed by the said Thomas Avery the the Testator in the presence of us, present at the time who in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as witnesses. (Sgd) John J.
