Will of Richard Allen Last will and Testament of In the name of God Amen I Richard Allan of St. John’s in the Central district of Newfoundland, Laborer, make this as and for my last will and Testament. After the payment of my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses I will devise and bequeath all lands houses, monies, goods, chattels, and effects whatsoever of which I shall be possessed or entitled to at the time of my death unto my Executor hereinafter named upon trusts to hold and apply the rents and profits thereof to the use support and maintenance of my beloved wife Ellen Allan during her natural life and thereafter for the sole and separate use of my son Thomas Allan. I appoint my old friend and neighbor Thomas Walsh, Wickford Street to be my Executor. Witness my hand at St. John’s aforesaid this 18th day of July Anno Domini Eighteen hundred and ninety three. (Sgd) Richard Allan. Signed and declared as and for his last will and Testament by the said Testator Richard Allan in presence of us who in presence of each other and of the testator and at his request sign as attesting witnesses.
