Will of John Allen from Newfoundland will books volume 5 page 271 probate year 1888 Last will and Testament of This is the last will and Testament of me John Allen, of Ballantynes Cove Bay of Islands I bequeath all my property, that is to say my share in the two dwelling houses in this Cove with the land attached to them, stores barns, gear etc (John x Allen his mark) also my share in the schooner Annie Allen "with Boats, fishing gear tackle etc also my share in the dwelling house at Plesure Harbor, Labrador with the stores, boats, fishing gear etc attached thereto, also my share in the horse, to be equally divided between my two sons Robert and James. John x Allen his mark. Signed by the said John Allen this twenty second day of February 1886 in our presence Evelyne Curling wife of the Rev. J. J. Curling. Joseph Bagg son of W. H. Bagg. - Admin. C.t.a. issued 19th April 1888
